An impairment-based physical therapy program for runners with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).

Purpose. Running is a common sport and recreational activity in the United States. Due to its dysfunctional implication runners, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) increasingly recognized as problematic source of anterior hip pain. The purpose this case series was describe an impairment-based physical therapy intervention non-professional runners with FAI.
 Materials methods. Two males, mean age 28.5± 2.1 years, both diagnosis (FAI), were treated manual therapy, dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS), functional training. At initial evaluation, subjects examined completed self-reported outcome measures including visual analog scale (VAS), patient-specific (PSFS). discharge, they same along global rating change (GROC) questionnaire.
 Results. Both showed clinically meaningful improvement pain function above minimal important difference (MCID). Upon subject 1 had 86% reduction VAS score, 75% PSFS GROC score 6; 2 88% VAS, 64% PSFS, 5.
 Conclusion. overall observed study who participated, however, because cause effect cannot be inferred from studies, follow-up randomized clinical/controlled trials are recommended further investigate studied on FAI.
